Reading time: 5 minutes
Key Points
Free users can make 10 queries on Grok-2 and 20 on Grok-2 mini every two hours.
Free users are limited to three image analysis questions per day.
To access Grok for free, an X account must be at least seven days old and linked to a verified phone number.
🤖News - Social network X, owned by Elon Musk, appears to be expanding access to its AI chatbot, Grok.
Over the weekend, reports surfaced from app researchers and users indicating that a free version of Grok is being tested in certain regions. The chatbot, developed by Musk’s company xAI, is currently limited to premium subscribers, but this move suggests broader accessibility may be on the way.
According to the researcher Swak on X, the free version comes with limited usage. Users have access to 10 queries every two hours for the Grok-2 model and 20 for the Grok-2 mini model. Additionally, free users are restricted to three image analysis questions per day. To qualify for this free version, an account must be at least seven days old and connected to a verified phone number.
🤔What prompted the move though? xAI may be expanding Grok’s reach to increase its userbase and gather feedback more rapidly. This could help the company better position Grok against other popular chatbots, such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini, which already have significant followings in the market.
Key Points
80% of businesses lack dedicated plans to address AI risks, despite growing concerns over AI-driven fraud and cybersecurity threats.
65% of companies lack policies governing generative AI use by partners and suppliers, exposing them to third-party fraud risks.
☕News – A recent survey reveals that 80% of organizations still lack a dedicated plan to address the risks posed by generative AI, despite widespread media coverage and warnings about AI-driven threats such as fraud attacks. The findings come from the 2024 New Generation of Risk Report, released by Riskconnect, a risk management software company.
😳What's more? Out of 218 risk compliance and resilience professionals surveyed globally,
24% believe AI-powered cybersecurity threats, including ransomware, phishing, and deepfakes, will have the most significant impact on businesses in the next 12 months.
Furthermore, 72% of respondents reported that cybersecurity risks are having a major or severe effect on their organizations, up from 47% last year.
Yet, 65% of companies don’t have a policy in place to govern the use of generative AI by partners and suppliers, despite third-party breaches being a common entry point for fraudsters.
📒In conclusion – The report underscores that while concerns about AI risks are evolving, risk management strategies haven’t kept pace with these changes. It also emphasizes that while risk management is increasingly seen as a strategic function, continued investment is necessary to address key gaps in protecting businesses from emerging threats.
