This Week in Workflow Wednesday #26: AI Trust
Make Your Research More Reliable with DeftGPT
Shaky research = shaky outcomes. Skimming PDFs and guessing at meaning won’t cut it, especially when trust is on the line.
Here’s how to dig deeper and build confidence in your sources:
Step 1:
Go to deftpdf.com/deftgpt and upload your documents—reports, contracts, academic papers, whatever you’re working with.
It’s free to use, and handles multiple files at once.
Step 2:
Ask smart, detailed questions like:
“What are the main arguments in Section 2?”
“Is the tone consistent throughout the document?”
EU’s AI rulebook hits a snag amid industry pushback

☕News – The EU's new Code of Practice for general-purpose AI models, like ChatGPT and Gemini, might not fully apply until the end of 2025. While the AI Act officially becomes law this August, pressure from tech companies and member states has slowed down the rollout of this key compliance guide.
👨💻Fast facts –
The Code of Practice was originally expected in May but is now set to be published in the coming days.
Companies may begin signing up next month, though participation is voluntary.
Those who sign up will get more legal clarity under the AI Act.
Rules for new AI models will be enforced from August 2025. Existing models have until 2027 to comply.
The European Commission has rejected calls for further delays.
🤓OpenTools POV – This delay highlights how regulatory gaps are emerging even as AI laws move forward. The code could end up shaping how trustworthy AI is defined in practice, long before full enforcement kicks in.
🙆🏻♀️What else is happening?
Meta’s AI lab is stacked with Chinese talent, drawing attention back home // Seven of 11 publicly listed recruits at the new Meta Superintelligence Labs graduated from prestigious Chinese universities before moving to US
Beer brewers across the globe are turning to AI to create new ales // Breweries are tapping artificial intelligence to make beer taste better. But can the likes of ChatGPT create a pint worth drinking
Alibaba’s open-source AI model shines as Qwen-based agentic framework tops global ranking // DeepSWE, trained on the Qwen3-32B model, scored 59 per cent accuracy in the latest industry benchmark to outperform a DeepSeek-V3 variant
A new, 200% faster DeepSeek R1-0528 variant appears from German lab TNG Technology Consulting GmbH // This gain is made possible by TNG’s Assembly-of-Experts (AoE) method – a technique for building LLMs by selectively merging the weight tensors (internal parameters) from multiple pre-trained models
