✨News - Runway has unveiled Gen-4, a new AI-powered video generator that promises some of the highest-fidelity (quality and detail) visuals yet. 

Now available to individual and enterprise users, the model is designed to create consistent characters, locations, and objects across multiple scenes. Users can provide reference images and text descriptions to shape their shots, with Gen-4 ensuring characters stay visually coherent even under different lighting conditions and angles.

👨‍💻The data dilemma - Like other AI video models, Gen-4 was trained on massive amounts of video data, but Runway won’t say where that data came from. The company argues that keeping this information private protects its competitive edge, but that secrecy also raises legal questions. Runway is currently facing a lawsuit from artists who claim its models were trained on copyrighted works without permission. The company insists fair use applies, but the case is far from settled.

🌟Competing for the top spot - Runway is reportedly in talks to raise new funding at a $4 billion valuation, with a goal of hitting $300 million in annualized revenue this year. But the AI video space is getting crowded. Amazon launches new AI agent, Nova Act, and Alexa Plus

☕News - Amazon has launched a new AI model called Nova Act, designed to handle tasks like online shopping directly in your browser. 

🤓Here's the lowdown - Although it is currently available only to developers in a "research preview," Nova Act promises to take over various online tasks, such as conducting web searches, making purchases, and answering questions about the content on your screen. One standout feature is its ability to follow detailed instructions, like avoiding upsell options during a purchase or performing tasks on a set schedule.

🧐A step towards AGI? Nova Act marks the first product from Amazon's Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) Labs, with aspirations to create agents capable of performing complex tasks, from organizing weddings to managing business operations. With the launch of the Nova suite, Amazon is betting on efficiency and cost-effectiveness, claiming its models are 75% cheaper than competitors.

😀What's more? In addition to Nova Act, Amazon has also launched Alexa Plus. While it does not yet offer all the features Amazon teased during its recent event, such as gift idea generation or the ability to order groceries, Alexa Plus can already perform useful tasks like booking Ubers, drafting emails, and identifying objects in real time.
