👩‍🍳What’s cooking in the newsroom?

Microsoft is 'turning everyone into a prompt engineer' with new Copilot AI features

👨🏻‍💻News - Microsoft is attempting to solve the issue of creating effective prompts for generative AI models. To achieve this, they are planning to update Copilot for Microsoft 365 with a range of new features aimed at helping users become proficient "prompt engineers."

First on the list is a new auto-complete feature that will offer suggestions to enhance AI prompts. As you start typing a prompt, Copilot will offer to complete it by suggesting additional details to improve the outcome. For instance, if you type "summarize," Copilot will display options such as summarizing the last 10 unread emails in your inbox or other tasks related to your Office data.

😁What's more? To further help improve the quality of your prompts while minimizing effort, Microsoft is adding a new "rewrite" feature. This feature will allow users to instantly transform basic prompts into more detailed ones with a single click.

Additionally, Microsoft will enable Copilot for Microsoft 365 subscribers to create, publish, and manage prompts in Copilot Lab. This feature will make it easier for users to share useful prompts with their colleagues and customize them for individual teams within their businesses.

OpenAI to launch new AI image detection tools and web search feature

🥸News - With increasing concerns about the impact of AI-generated content on this year's global elections, OpenAI is introducing a new tool designed to identify images created by its text-to-image generator, DALL-E 3.

In internal tests, the tool accurately detected DALL-E 3 images about 98% of the time, even when they were modified, such as through compression, cropping, or changes in saturation.

Additionally, OpenAI plans to incorporate tamper-resistant watermarking to label digital content, such as photos or audio, making it more challenging to alter or remove.

🤹🏻‍♂️See also - An anonymous source has now confirmed that the company is also developing a feature for ChatGPT that will allow it to search the web. This move could potentially position ChatGPT in direct competition with Google and the AI search startup Perplexity.

According to the source, this feature will enable users to ask ChatGPT questions and receive answers that incorporate information from the web, complete with citations from sources like Wikipedia entries and blog posts. Moreover, some versions of the feature will include relevant images alongside written responses to questions, providing users with visual aids when necessary. For instance, if a user asks ChatGPT how to change a doorknob, the results might include a diagram illustrating the task.

AI in life sciences market can move above $6,700M by 2030, study suggests

🕵🏻‍♀️News - A study published by Towards Healthcare predicts that the global artificial intelligence in life sciences market revenue will reach around $3,880 million by 2027 and can cross $6,700M by 2030.

📈Key factors this driving growth -

  1. Increasing prevalence of chronic diseases: Chronic diseases, such as cancer, diabetes, and heart disease, are a major burden on the global healthcare system. AI can be used to develop new treatments for these diseases, besides improving the diagnosis and management of existing treatments.

  2. Rising demand for personalized medicine: Personalized medicine is a field of medicine that tailors treatments to the individual patient's genetic makeup and other characteristics. AI can be used to develop personalized medicine by analyzing large amounts of data to identify patterns and correlations that can be used to predict which treatments are most likely to be effective for each patient.

  3. The growing availability of data: The amount of data available in the life sciences field is growing very fast. This data can be used to train AI models which can make better decisions about drug discovery.
