OpenAI introduces DALL-E 3 that uses ChatGPT for prompts
☕News - OpenAI has released the third version of its generative AI text-to-image model DALL-E. According to the researchers, DALL-E 3 is even better at understanding contextual information in text descriptions than previous versions. The company will release the new model to ChatGPT premium users in October, followed by research laboratories and API customers.
✨What's new in this version?
When you use DALL-E to generate an image, you need to provide it with a prompt. In DALL-E 3, ChatGPT can take brief prompts from users and make them more detailed, providing better guidance to the DALL-E model.
Well, the model’s improved performance is particularly noticeable when working with longer and more complex textual prompts. It excels in understanding and responding to detailed instructions.
It is more effective at generating images of text (such as handwritten or stylized fonts) and human hands, which can be intricate and challenging to render realistically.
The model declines requests for images that could raise intellectual property, privacy, or ethical concerns. This includes images resembling the style of living artists or images portraying public figures.
Artists can now opt out of having their work used to train future generations of the model.
Amazon brings generative AI to Alexa and Fire TV devices
🍵News - Amazon announced at its annual devices event that it is updating its Echo devices and Fire TV voice search with generative AI to make interactions with Alexa more conversational and enhance content discovery.
Amazon says the update will give Alexa a more unique and expressive personality, allowing users to have more natural conversations with her, including body language, eye contact, and gestures.
🤗What’s special? Users can also ask Alexa for specific types of content, such as movies with car chases or comedies for a rainy day. Alexa will then recommend personalized content based on their Fire TV profile.
In fact, with the new generative AI feature, Alexa can also adjust its tone and response to express emotions like affirmation, excitement, laughter, and surprise. It can also adapt to a person's pauses and hesitations to create a more fluid and natural conversation.
Amazon has confirmed that a free preview of these new features will soon be accessible to US customers through their existing Echo devices.
Neuralink receives approval for brain implant trial on paralyzed patients
♨️News - Elon Musk's Neuralink has received approval to begin human trials for its wireless brain-machine interface technology. This is a significant step forward for the company in its mission to develop implants that can help people with paralysis and other neurological disorders.
🧠Who will the trial help? The clinical trial aims to help people dealing with chronic medical and neurological conditions. Specifically, individuals with quadriplegia due to spinal cord injuries or sclerosis.
While the study will focus on paralysis patients for now, Musk hopes it can eventually assist in treating conditions like obesity, autism, depression, and schizophrenia.
Initially, the goal will be to empower individuals to control a computer cursor or keyboard solely with their thoughts.
🤖What’s the role of AI? AI will be used to design, train, and control brain implants, as well as to support research and development efforts, such as identifying trial candidates, monitoring patients, and analyzing data.

🤗Technical jargon simplified
Big Data: It is a term used to refer to large sets of data that are too big to be effectively processed or analyzed using traditional data management methods. Big data is often used in AI to provide the vast and diverse datasets needed to train and improve machine learning models.
Cognitive Computing: It is a field of AI that aims to create computer systems capable of mimicking human thought processes and cognitive abilities. Cognitive computing systems can understand, reason, learn, and interact with humans in a more natural and intuitive way.
Backward Chaining: It is a reasoning strategy used in artificial intelligence and logic programming. Think of it as a goal-driven approach where the system starts with a desired outcome and works backward through a series of rules to determine what needs to be done in order to achieve that goal.
