Nvidia unveils new AI models to advance robotics development worldwide

ā™ØļøNews –  Nvidia is stepping deeper into robotics with a fresh lineup of AI models, libraries, and infrastructure revealed at the SIGGRAPH conference. Leading the announcements is Cosmos Reason, a 7-billion-parameter vision language model built to help robots and AI agents understand their environment and plan their next steps.

šŸ‘Øā€šŸ’»Fast facts –

  • Cosmos Reason uses memory and physics knowledge for tasks like robot planning, data curation, and video analysis.

  • New additions include Cosmos Transfer-2 for faster synthetic data generation from 3D simulations and a streamlined version focused on speed.

  • Neural reconstruction libraries now make it possible to create realistic 3D simulations from sensor data, with support coming to the open source simulator CARLA.

  • The Omniverse SDK has been updated, along with new robotics servers such as the RTX Pro Blackwell Server and the DGX Cloud platform.

  • Nvidia is positioning robotics as the next major growth area for its AI GPUs.

šŸ¤“OpenTools POV – By bringing reasoning, simulation, and faster data generation into one toolkit, Nvidia is making it easier for robotics developers to move from experimentation to real-world deployment. This signals a clear shift toward AI systems that can operate in complex, physical environments.

This Week in Workflow Wednesday #31: AI Decision Making (+ AI Agents)

Understanding ChatGPT Agent Mode: A Beginner-Friendly Workflow
Since so many of you have been asking about AI Agents, here’s some insight: ChatGPT’s Agent Mode turns a regular AI chatbot into a semi‑autonomous assistant. Instead of simply answering one question at a time, Agent Mode can remember what you asked earlier, plan a series of tasks, use tools like a web browser or code editor, and produce real deliverables (spreadsheets, slides, emails).

Step 1: Activate Agent Mode

To start, you need access to ChatGPT’s Agent Mode (available on Pro, Plus and Team plans). Open ChatGPT, go to the tools menu and select ā€˜Agent’ or type /agent. This tells ChatGPT to switch into agentic mode. You can also connect apps like Gmail or Google Drive through the integrated connector menu - only enable what you need.

Step 2: Define Goals & Provide Context

Before the agent starts working, give it a clear goal and as much context as possible. Explain what you want (e.g., research market trends and create…...We break it down fully in this week’s issue, along with 2 other AI workflows

Reddit restricts internet archive access over AI scraping concerns

ā˜•News – Reddit is limiting how much of its site the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine can capture after finding that AI companies were using it to scrape Reddit content. From now on, the archive will only be able to save the Reddit homepage, not posts, comments, or profiles.

šŸ‘Øā€šŸ’»Fast facts –

  • Reddit says some AI firms pulled data from the Wayback Machine in violation of its policies.

  • The homepage will still be archived, but detailed content pages will not.

  • Reddit cites protecting user privacy and deleted content as key reasons.

  • The restrictions begin rolling out today, and the Internet Archive was informed in advance.

  • Reddit has recently made paid data deals with Google and OpenAI and sued Anthropic for alleged scraping.

šŸ¤“OpenTools POV –  The decision reflects a broader shift as platforms lock down their data in the AI era. Open access is giving way to controlled, licensed use.
