☕News - Nvidia and Foxconn are teaming up to build Taiwan's largest supercomputer, called the Hon Hai Kaohsiung SuperComputing Center. The project, announced at Hon Hai Tech Day, will use Nvidia's Blackwell GPU architecture.

The setup will be based on the GB200 NVL72 platform, a cutting-edge data center platform optimized for AI and accelerated computing. It will include 64 racks and 4,608 Tensor Core GPUs, delivering more than 90 exaflops of AI performance. Once complete, it will be the fastest supercomputer in Taiwan.

🕵🏻‍♂️What will it be used for? Foxconn plans to use the supercomputer to make significant strides in cancer research, develop large language models, and advance smart city innovations, hoping to put Taiwan on the map as a leader in AI.

It will also play a key role in their work on digital twins, robotic automation, and smart city infrastructure, helping bring AI-powered services to cities like Kaohsiung, where it's being built. The first phase should be up and running by mid-2025, with full completion expected in 2026.
