Google and NASA develop AI doctor to treat astronauts in space

♨️News – NASA is working with Google to test an AI medical assistant that could help astronauts handle health issues during long missions to the moon or Mars. Called the Crew Medical Officer Digital Assistant (CMO-DA), the tool is designed to provide guidance when no doctor is on board and communication with Earth is delayed or unavailable.

• Built in Google Cloud’s Vertex AI with speech, text, and image capabilities.

• NASA owns the source code and has fine-tuned the models.

• Tested on scenarios including ankle injury, flank pain, and ear pain.

• Diagnostic accuracy rated between 74% and 88% by physicians, including an astronaut.

• Future plans include linking to medical devices and adapting to space-specific conditions such as microgravity.

Understanding ChatGPT Agent Mode: A Beginner-Friendly Workflow
Since so many of you have been asking about AI Agents, here’s some insight: ChatGPT’s Agent Mode turns a regular AI chatbot into a semi‑autonomous assistant. Instead of simply answering one question at a time, Agent Mode can remember what you asked earlier, plan a series of tasks, use tools like a web browser or code editor, and produce real deliverables (spreadsheets, slides, emails).

Step 1: Activate Agent Mode

 To start, you need access to ChatGPT’s Agent Mode (available on Pro, Plus and Team plans). Open ChatGPT, go to the tools menu and select ‘Agent’ or type /agent. This tells ChatGPT to switch into agentic mode. You can also connect apps like Gmail or Google Drive through the integrated connector menu - only enable what you need.

Step 2: Define Goals & Provide Context

Before the agent starts working, give it a clear goal and as much context as possible. Explain what you want (e.g., research market trends and create…...We break it down fully in this week’s issue, along with 2 other AI workflows

Nvidia, AMD to share China chip sales revenue with U.S. government

☕News –  Nvidia and AMD have agreed to give the U.S. government 15% of revenue from their AI chip sales to China in return for export licenses. The rare arrangement follows a meeting between Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and President Trump, reversing earlier restrictions on these sales.

👨‍💻Fast facts –

• The deal covers Nvidia’s H20 and AMD’s MI308 chips, both previously blocked over security concerns.

• U.S. government revenue from the agreement could exceed $2 billion.

• Licenses for the sales were issued shortly after the White House meeting.

• National security experts warn the decision could help advance China’s AI capabilities.

• The administration says China will still be blocked from buying the most advanced U.S. chips.

• RIP, Microsoft Lens, a simple little app that’s getting replaced by AI // Microsoft lens was a mobile document scanner that turned paper documents, business cards, receipts, and anything else into easily readable digital files. Now that app is being discontinued, Microsoft says, as it directs its users to its Copilot AI chat app instead 

• AI is creating new billionaires at a record pace // That’s boosted in part by blockbuster fundraising rounds this year for Anthropic, Safe Superintelligence, OpenAI, Anysphere and other AI startups, which have helped mint new billionaires

• OpenAI beats Elon Musk's Grok in AI chess tournament // OpenAI's o3 model emerged unbeaten in the tournament and defeated xAI's model Grok 4 in the final, adding fuel to the fire of an ongoing rivalry between the two firms
