Elon Musk predicts closed-source AI to reign supreme in 2024
🧙🏻♂️News - In a recent Twitter Space session, Elon Musk provided insights into the future of AI, sharing his 2024 forecasts for the rapidly advancing technology.
🌊A deep dive of the tech titan's remarks - Addressing the debate between open-source and closed-source AI models, Elon Musk stated that closed-source AI models will consistently outperform open-source ones in 2024. The tech billionaire explained that this prediction is based on two primary factors: the substantial funding needed for cutting-edge AI development and the rapid pace of AI advancements.
Here, the significant financial investment aspect implies that those with more resources can afford advanced research and development, potentially leading to superior closed-source models. Additionally, the fast pace of advancements suggests that closed-source models, which may benefit from proprietary and exclusive innovations, could stay ahead of open-source models in terms of performance and capabilities.
Speaking of proprietary models, Musk also mentioned that he intends for his recently launched AI chatbot Grok to be a "truth improver" over the next decade, leading to increased competition among AI systems for accuracy.

In line with this, AI expert Kelly Slessor anticipates that shopping in 2024 will be "very different," driven by businesses adopting predictive artificial intelligence.
🎅🏻An AI-powered Christmas awaits? While most Christmas presents have been unwrapped by now, the upcoming year will witness a significant shift in the retail landscape as AI is integrated and used on scale.
To put things into perspective, a recent writerbuddy report revealed that the top 50 AI tools collectively generated over 24 billion visits between September 2022 and August 2023. Unsurprisingly, ChatGPT alone accounted for 14 billion visits, representing a substantial 60% of the analyzed traffic.
Put simply, this surprising level of interest in the emerging tech trend of AI was unexpected. The eye-opening statistics have further set the stage for what comes next as we incorporate the complex layers of AI into our everyday lives, indicating a transformative shift in how we interact with technology.
84% of Turkish workforce fears job loss due to AI, survey finds
☕News - According to a recent survey conducted by the Turkish Artificial Intelligence and Technology Association, 84% of Turks are worried about losing their jobs to widespread AI-based software applications.
🤓Additional standout findings include:
The survey found heightened anxiety among Turkish people regarding AI, particularly among those working in sectors such as software, IT, e-commerce, media, defense industry, transportation, and health care.
77% of the population was found to lack a comprehensive understanding of artificial intelligence.
Moreover, a majority conceptualized artificial intelligence as "humanoid robots."
Interestingly, Hollywood's science fiction films, including Star Wars, Terminator 2, Matrix, Interstellar, Black Mirror, and RoboCop, were identified as the primary contributors to the above-mentioned misconception regarding AI.
🫢In conclusion - It comes as no surprise that the adoption of AI technologies in Turkish companies remains notably low, with only 5.5% reporting usage, as per a survey conducted by the Turkish Statistical Institute. This figure reflects a slight uptick from the 3.5% recorded in 2022, aligning with limited awareness and understanding of AI among the Turkish population, as discussed above.
