☕News - A team of technologists in Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is reportedly using artificial intelligence to keep an eye on at least one federal agency, flagging any signs of internal pushback against President Donald Trump or his agenda.
While DOGE remains largely under the radar, this use of AI marks a bold step in tracking perceived disloyalty within the government workforce. At the Environmental Protection Agency, managers were allegedly told that Musk’s team was deploying AI to review staff communications for anything that might be considered anti-Trump or anti-Musk.
🥸What’s more? Sources also say DOGE is relying on the Signal app for internal communication. Since Signal messages can disappear after a set time, this has raised questions about whether federal record-keeping rules are being sidestepped. 👨💻News - Amazon has upgraded its AI video model, Nova Reel, making it capable of generating videos up to two minutes long.
✨What’s new? The newly released Nova Reel 1.1 can now create “multi-shot” videos that maintain a consistent visual style throughout. Users can input prompts of up to 4,000 characters to generate a sequence of six-second shots stitched together into a full-length clip.
The update also introduces a new mode called Multishot Manual. This feature allows users to guide the composition of individual shots by pairing a reference image with a short prompt. Given an image with 1280 by 720 resolution and a 512-character prompt, the model can produce videos with up to 20 distinct shots, each shaped by the visual and text inputs.
🤓Getting started - Nova Reel remains accessible only through Amazon’s AI platforms and services, including Bedrock. Interested users must request access to try it out.
