👨🏻🎨Midjourney Upgrades Its AI
PLUS: Microsoft Unveils Custom AI Agents

Key Points
Midjourney's new web tool will let users easily edit any image uploaded from the web using its generative AI, as well as repaint and retexture it with simple text captions.
At first, the tool will only be available to a small group, with added human and AI moderation to prevent misuse.
👨🏻💻News - Midjourney is set to release an upgraded web tool that’ll let users edit any image uploaded from the web using its generative AI. The tool will also allow users to change the colors and details of objects in images through simple text captions, making it easier to “repaint” and retexture images.
Midjourney CEO David Holz shared on the platform’s Discord that the tool will first be available only to a smaller group of users. The rollout will include increased human moderation and new advanced AI moderators aimed at preventing misuse.
🤔Why limit access? The decision aligns with the growing concerns over AI-edited images. In the current scenario, companies like Meta are grappling with how to label content that’s been edited with AI, while others, like Google, have rolled out powerful tools without clear labels for AI-modified images.
Midjourney itself has faced criticism over copyright concerns and is currently dealing with lawsuits related to its training data. Recently, the platform has made efforts to limit deepfakes, especially around political figures, and added some transparency measures. Despite these steps, Midjourney has yet to adopt the more comprehensive C2PA system for tracking image origins. Thus, given the potential for misuse, limiting access to this tool is a cautious move.

♨️News - Microsoft is set to roll out a new feature next month that lets customers create their own autonomous AI agents. This move is part of the company’s strategy to tap into the booming AI market while addressing investor concerns about its significant investments in this area.
Positioned as "apps for an AI-driven world," these autonomous agents will require very little human input, setting them apart from traditional chatbots. They will assist businesses in handling client inquiries, identifying sales leads, and managing inventory efficiently.
Starting in November, customers will be able to use Copilot Studio, an easy-to-navigate application that doesn’t require much coding knowledge, to build these agents during a public preview. Microsoft is incorporating its own AI models along with those from OpenAI to power this feature.
🤖What's more? The company will also introduce ten ready-to-use agents that can help with routine tasks, from managing supply chains to tracking expenses. recent demonstration by McKinsey & Co showcased an agent capable of managing client inquiries by analyzing interaction histories and coordinating follow-up meetings.
Charles Lamanna, Microsoft’s corporate vice president, explained that the concept is for Copilot—the company’s chatbot—to serve as the main user interface for AI. He emphasized that every employee will have their own personalized Copilot, allowing them to seamlessly interact with a wide range of AI agents available to them.
