Microsoft builds world’s most advanced AI data center in Wisconsin

♨️News – Microsoft is close to finishing a $3.3 billion AI data center in Wisconsin that it says will be the most advanced in the world. The facility, expected to open in early 2026, will first be used to train OpenAI models before expanding to serve other tenants, including Microsoft itself.

👨‍💻Fast facts –

• The site covers 1.2 million square feet across three buildings on 315 acres.

• It houses hundreds of thousands of Nvidia GB200 GPUs designed to communicate at terabytes per second.

• Two-story construction reduces latency by placing systems closer together.

• More than 90 percent of cooling comes from a closed-loop water system, with outside air cooling used on hot days.

• Microsoft also pledged an additional $4 billion for a second data center in Wisconsin.
