Key Points
Meta is developing AI glasses with “super-sensing” software that can recognize people and track real-time surroundings.
The glasses use always-on cameras and sensors to offer reminders based on what the AI notices around you.
Current testing shows the battery lasts just 30 minutes, but Meta aims for hours-long performance in future versions.
🤓News - Meta is working on new smart glasses with what it's calling “super-sensing” vision, AI-powered software that can recognize people by name and keep tabs on your daily life. The company is reportedly developing two models for 2026, internally codenamed Aperol and Bellini.
The system, triggered by the phrase “Hey Meta, start live AI,” uses always-on cameras and sensors to keep track of your surroundings. It’s designed to be helpful in everyday moments, like reminding you to grab your keys if you’ve left them behind or suggesting you stop for groceries on your way home.
The live AI software is already being tested on existing Meta glasses, but it drains the battery in just 30 minutes. Meta’s goal is to get future glasses and potentially a camera-equipped set of earphones to run the AI assistant for several hours without dying.
👾What’s more? To speed up development, Meta has changed how it evaluates privacy and safety concerns. That shift is helping it move faster, but it also raises questions about how much data the glasses will collect and how that data will be used.

Key Points
Apple is developing new chips for its first smart glasses, with mass production set for 2027.
Alongside smart glasses, Apple is enhancing AI servers and new Mac processors, aiming to improve Apple Intelligence.
Future Apple products like AirPods and Apple Watches will incorporate AI chips, expanding the company’s AI ecosystem.
♨️News - Apple’s silicon team is hard at work on new chips that will power the company’s first smart glasses.
This chip, designed for energy efficiency and to control the multiple cameras on the glasses, is expected to begin mass production by the end of 2026 or early 2027. The smart glasses will likely compete with Meta’s popular Ray-Ban models, with Apple aiming to bring a product to market within the next couple of years.
🤹♂️More chips - Alongside the smart glasses, Apple is developing chips for future Macs and AI servers. These chips will enhance the Apple Intelligence platform, making AI services faster and more powerful. The new processors, including the M6 and M7 chips, are part of Apple’s broader plan to transition from Intel processors to its own custom silicon, which it started in 2020.
The company is also working on a more advanced Mac chip called Sotra, with plans to release the M5 processor for iPad Pro and MacBook Pro later this year.
👨💻Expanding AI across devices - Apple isn’t just focused on smart glasses and Macs. The company is working on integrating AI into other devices like AirPods and Apple Watches. New chips, like Nevis for the Apple Watch and Glennie for AirPods, will help these products leverage AI capabilities.
In addition, Apple is developing AI server chips, expected to launch by 2027, which will process Apple Intelligence requests and feed data to devices more efficiently.
🕵️♂️Looking ahead - Beyond current projects, Apple’s hardware group is planning even more ambitious technologies. This includes sensors and chips designed to monitor glucose levels, a feature that could one day appear in the Apple Watch, continuing the company’s push into health and AI innovation.
