xAI acquires X in all-stock deal, creating $80 billion AI powerhouse

♨️News - Elon Musk has merged his AI startup, xAI, with X, the social media platform he also owns, in an all-stock deal that values xAI at $80 billion and X at $33 billion. As part of the deal, all shares of X and xAI will be rolled into a newly formed holding company, xAI Holdings Corp, which was recently registered in Nevada with Musk as president.

🚀A strategic move for Musk’s AI vision - The move isn’t entirely surprising. Musk has been steering X toward becoming an “everything app” with deep AI integration. The two companies were already deeply connected. xAI’s chatbot, Grok, is trained on posts from X, and the social platform has been generating revenue from xAI. Musk described the merger as a logical next step, saying, “xAI and X’s futures are intertwined.” But now that xAI owns X outright, the impact on users could be significant.

🧐What to expect - AI will likely play a much larger role in how content is recommended, moderated, and even created. xAI’s chatbot, Grok, is already embedded in X, and with this acquisition, it could become even more central to the platform—analyzing posts, personalizing feeds, and possibly generating content in ways we haven’t seen before.

🫠More AI, more data concerns - There are also privacy concerns. xAI has already been using public posts from X to train its AI, but this deal could expand access to even more user data. Apple revamps Health app with AI coach and personalized wellness features

🍎News - Apple is preparing to make its boldest move in health care yet, with a completely overhauled Health app and an innovative AI-driven health coach. 

CEO Tim Cook has often stated that he believes Apple’s greatest contribution to society could be in the health sector. While the Apple Watch and Health app have not yet fully realized their potential as medical tools, Apple is aiming to change that with a series of ambitious projects.

🤔How so? The company’s new initiative, known as Project Mulberry, will focus on integrating an AI health coach into the Health app. This service will analyze data collected from various Apple devices, such as the iPhone, Watch, and AirPods, to offer tailored health advice. 

By using data from in-house and external physicians, the AI will provide users with personalized recommendations, potentially helping them improve their overall health and lifestyle. The revamped Health app will also emphasize food tracking, a feature Apple has largely avoided until now. 

Additionally, the app will incorporate fitness features that use device cameras to analyze users' workouts and suggest ways to improve technique. This move brings Apple into competition with apps like MyFitnessPal and weight-management services like Noom.
