Shared ChatGPT conversations were being indexed by search engines

ā™ØļøNews –  For a brief period, conversations shared from ChatGPT were turning up in Google and Bing search results. OpenAI has now pulled the feature, saying it made it too easy for users to accidentally expose private information.

šŸ‘Øā€šŸ’»Fast facts –

  • Only chats shared using the ā€œShareā€ and ā€œCreate Linkā€ buttons were affected.

  • Some indexed links revealed personal details, like job applications or LinkedIn clues.

  • Odd and sometimes absurd conversations also surfaced in search.

  • Search engines picked up these links just like any other public web page.

  • OpenAI called the feature an experiment that quickly proved too risky.

šŸ¤“OpenTools POV – Even when sharing feels intentional, most users don’t expect their chats to end up in search. This highlights how easily personal data can slip into public view, especially when AI tools are built for open use.

Manus pushes parallel agent limits with new wide research feature

ā˜•News –  Chinese AI startup Manus has introduced a new feature called Wide Research, designed to let users run large-scale tasks by spinning up more than 100 AI agents at once. While others focus on deep, detailed research using a single agent, Manus is betting on speed and scale by dividing work across many parallel agents.

šŸ‘Øā€šŸ’»Fast facts –

  • Wide Research launches automatically for complex tasks without needing manual setup.

  • Each subagent is a full Manus instance, capable of handling general-purpose tasks.

  • In one demo, agents compared 100 sneakers simultaneously and returned structured results in minutes.

  • The system can also be used for creative work, like generating dozens of design variations.

  • The feature is now available for Pro users, with plans to expand to lower-tier subscriptions.

šŸ¤“OpenTools POV – Manus is taking a different path by focusing on parallelism rather than depth. It’s an ambitious move, but without clear performance data or coordination details, the real benefits will only become clear once users put it to the test.
