Adobe Photoshop adds Generative AI fill feature to make photo editing easier

🤓Introducing - Adobe’s Generative fill feature to Photoshop. This will offer users a new way to work by easily adding, extending, or removing content from images using simple text prompts.

🤩How to use it? To use the Generative AI fill feature, you first select the area of the image that you want to modify. Then, you type a text prompt that describes what you want to do. For example, if you want to add a tree to a landscape photo, you might type "add tree to left side of image."

🤔What’s next? The Generative AI fill feature will then use its artificial intelligence to generate a new version of the image that matches your text prompt. The results are often surprisingly realistic, and the feature can be used to create a wide variety of effects.

Currently, the feature is available through the Photoshop beta. The tool is powered by Adobe Firefly, a product of Adobe Creative Cloud.

Meta launches Code Llama, a special kind of AI model to write computer code

🤖News - Meta has launched Code Llama, an open-source machine learning system that can generate and explain code in natural language.

It can understand human-written code and generate new code or debug existing code across a range of programming languages, including Python, C++, Java, PHP, Typescript, C# and Bash.

🤡What is it based on? It is based on the Llama 2 text-generating model, but it has been fine-tuned to be better at understanding instructions and generating high-quality code.

In fact, Meta used the same data set to train Code Llama as it used to train Llama 2. This data set includes a mix of publicly available sources from around the web, such as code repositories, documentation, and Stack Overflow posts.

😵‍💫Any drawbacks? Well, Meta also acknowledges that Code Llama is not perfect. The company says that Code Llama might generate "inaccurate" or "objectionable" responses to prompts.

Alibaba unveils AI models that can understand images and complex conversations

🤶News - Alibaba, a Chinese technology giant, has released two new open-source AI models, Qwen-VL and Qwen-VL-Chat. The company claims that the models can understand images and hold more complex conversations than its previous products.

Researchers, academics, and companies worldwide can use the models to develop their own AI applications without having to build their own training systems. Based on these models’ capabilities, some experts suggest that it can outshine the likes of ChatGPT and Bard.

🧛What’s unique about these models? Qwen-VL can respond to complex queries related to different images and generate picture captions.

Qwen-VL-Chat is majorly focused on complicated interaction, such as comparing multiple image inputs and answering several rounds of questions. However, it can perform a variety of other tasks as well, including writing stories and solving mathematical equations.

The models are both built on top of the company's large language model called Tongyi Qianwen.

Researchers find ChatGPT's cancer treatment advice full of mistakes

🤵‍♀️News - A study published in the journal JAMA Oncology has found that cancer treatment plans generated by OpenAI's ChatGPT were full of errors.

The study, which was conducted by researchers at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, found that one-third of ChatGPT's responses contained incorrect information. The chatbot also had a tendency to mix correct and incorrect information together, making it difficult to identify what was accurate.

🕵️‍♂️Did ChatGPT recommend everything incorrect?

  • Of the 104 queries, ChatGPT's responses met the National Comprehensive Cancer Network guidelines in 98% of cases. However, in 2% of cases, the responses contained incorrect information, such as recommending treatments that were not appropriate for the patient's cancer type or stage.

  • The findings raise concerns about the use of artificial intelligence in the medical field.

  • The study's authors called for further research to improve the accuracy of the chatbots and other AI systems that have the potential to be used in healthcare.
