WordPress launches Telex AI tool to simplify website building with prompts

☕News – WordPress has introduced an AI tool called Telex that aims to make building websites as simple as typing a prompt. Co-founder Matt Mullenweg revealed the project at WordCamp US 2025, describing it as a step toward bringing “vibe coding” into the WordPress ecosystem.

• Telex allows users to create Gutenberg blocks such as text, images, or animations.

• It delivers results as a plug-in in a .zip file for WordPress or WordPress Playground.

• The tool is available at telex.automattic.ai but is still marked experimental.

• Early tests showed mixed results, with some projects failing to run smoothly.

• Mullenweg also previewed a browser-based AI help assistant and highlighted Perplexity’s Comet as a tool that could link with WordPress.
